Upper Left Corners of Genuine Przedbórz #1 Stamps

Type

Characteristics of the Top Left Corner of No. 1: 2 Gr. Carmine (see below)

1

Dot in upper left corner joins outer and middle frame lines.

2

The inner-most frame line is (usually) almost cut through at the top left, while the outer one is not cut through. There is a 0.2 MM break in the left-most shading line, starting about 0.8 MM from the bottom.

3

On the right side of the “2", there is a 0.1 MM start to a 12th shading line, which dissolves into some dots aimed at the eleventh line. Rarely, these dots appear to be an actual line which joins the 11th line about ½ MM below the top.

4

Three breaks in the top MM of the left-most shading line. The break lengths are about 0.05 mm, 0.15 mm, and 0.2 mm, starting from the top.

5

Right-side inner-most frame line of “2" is thin in the middle, as if it were a 13th shading line. The outer frame line is almost cut through horizontally at the top.

6

Like Type 4, there are 3 breaks in the top mm of the left shading line. However, these are smaller breaks, with lengths of about 0.05 mm, 0.05-0.1 mm, and 0.05 mm, starting from the top.

7

The outer frame line is cut through vertically at the upper left corner. Like type 2, this has only 11 shading lines, but on type 7, the inner frame line is not at all cut through at the top left. Like type 2 there is a break in the left-most shading line, but on type 7 it is 0.1 MM long, and starts at the top instead of the bottom.

8

On the right side of the “2" there is a truncated 12th shading line about 0.5 mm long.
